Dear client,
Greetings!
Here are some things that I'd like you to know whether they are spoken or left unsaid during therapy sessions.
Firstly, I want you to know that you are brave and strong even when you don't feel like it. I see your strengths, your talents, your challenges, and your vulnerabilities, doing the best that you can. You have made it this far after all, and you will keep going, one step at a time.
One of the most common things I hear people say is, “I should be able to figure this out on my own.” Think of all the people who you support in your life, either directly or indirectly. You deserve to feel supported too. If you could have help during some of the most difficult transitions of your life, why wouldn't you take it?
I see your frustration as you try to figure out the grand questions of life. It is not always easy and I see you work hard to make sense of things. Know, that not knowing is part of the process and that you will figure it all out eventually.
You may feel alone and unloved at times.Knowing you, I can say with certainty that you are loved.I have yet to meet an individual who wasn’t loved by someone. Seeing you in your most vulnerable state, I know that there are many others who deep love and care about you.
Lastly, congratulations on taking the time to get to know yourself better by going to therapy. You are taking the steps necessary to make profound and important changes in your life. Don’t forget to give yourself credit for what a big deal that really is!
Sincerely,
Your Therapist.
